Congress' Lok Sabha candidate from Amethi, KL Sharma, called himself a "pure politician" and said he doesn't take salary from Congress. "Mai koi naukri nahi kar raha Gandhi parivar ki (I don't work for Gandhi family.) I'm a politician. I came here in 1983 through Youth Congress," he added. He stressed that he'll defeat minister and BJP candidate Smriti Irani.
