Google parent Alphabet paid Apple $20 billion in 2022 for Google to be the default search engine in Apple's Safari browser. Google was allocating 36% of its search revenue from Safari to Apple. The details were revealed in newly unsealed US court documents in the Justice Department's antitrust lawsuit against Google.
