Ahead of parliamentary polls, opposition parties in Maldives demanded a probe and impeachment of President Mohamed Muizzu after a leaked report from 2018 accused him of corruption. The report posted on X by an anonymous handle includes documents by Financial Intelligence Unit claiming irregularities in money transfers to Muizzu's personal bank account. Muizzu has, however, dismissed the charge.
