Blue ink drop used in voting: what uou need to know

During the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, voters are marked with a drop of blue ink on their left finger after voting. This ink, produced by Mysore Paint and Varnish Limited, was developed by CSIR scientists and costs Rs 127 per 10 ml bottle. It contains silver nitrate, turning black on skin contact, and is used in over 25 countries.
