Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said Mumbai is the economic capital of the country and it cannot be "ruined" like Kolkata. "Bengal has been ruined...Kolkata was once leading the economic growth, but is ruined by politics. Maharashtra shouldn't be allowed to go down that route," he said. He added Bihar and Uttar Pradesh too were reduced to unstable conditions earlier.
