Govt lifts ban on onion exports, sets minimum export price of $550/MT

The government has lifted the ban on onion exports and imposed a minimum export price of $550 per metric tonne. This comes a day after the government announced a 40% export duty on onions. India, which is the world's largest exporter of onions, had imposed a ban on onion exports last year and extended it indefinitely in March.
