The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is in a position to start off with testing and running pilot projects of central bank digital currency (CBDC) or digital rupee, Deputy Governor T Rabi Sankar said. He added that the RBI will take a calibrated and nuanced approach towards CBDC and ensure that it is introduced in a manner that is non-disruptive.
