Activists in Peru protested outside the health ministry in Lima, demanding the repeal of a decree that classifies seven gender identities, including transsexualism, as "mental illnesses". The decree, issued on May 10, updated insurable health conditions but used the obsolete term, "mental disorder" for transgender identities. The term has been officially abandoned by the World Health Organisation.
